Where did November go?

Man I missed a whole month! Hope you all had a great Turkey Day! So what happened in November????

I have seen some new places. I have now ventured to Cleveland, OH...well suburbs at least. It was pretty cool. I had a job at one of the Philips facilities, and we toured the facility. They make CT Scanners and MRI's there, plus a few other things. Those MRI's are CRAZY and EXPENSIVE. Then again allot of the equipment there is expensive. It is pretty interesting to see how they put everything together and how long it takes from start to finish. Plus they hold a lot of training at this facility for customers and employees.

I have now been to Austin, TX as well. I stayed in Downtown Austin at the Hilton Garden Inn. It was annoying because you have to park your car, and the only way to park it at the hotel is to have it parked by a valet. 25/night to park the car. There is no other option. Plus I would say I was in the "Ghetto" of Austin. According to the hotel staff it is best to not walk around at night in that area. Blah blah blah. Who goes walking in a strange area at night by yourself anyway? I had to rescue one my fellow cohorts. He hurt his back and was trying to drive to a job, and got to the point where he couldn't drive anymore, he couldn't even stand up. He was about an hour away, so I drove up and picked him up. Then another coworker from Houston drove up and we went back to get his rental car and return it. 5 hours worth of driving back and forth...wheeeee.

Afterwards I did a couple of jobs in Waco, TX and then stayed up in Arlington. I was able to go to Dennis and Wendy's and hung out with Ryan. Ryan and I went to Fort Worth and bar hopped all night. We all flew back to SLC about the same time, they were on American and I was on Delta.

We spent Turkey day at the in-laws. So we ate dinner with Mike and Susan, Lindsay, Rachael, Scott, Louis (Shannon's Uncle), Brady (Louis's son), and Kyson (Brady's Son). They ate late because Rachael didn't get there until ~4. They didn't have any yams or sweet potatoes. :(
Afterwards Scott's kids came over. So we got to see Dallan and Brooklyn. Then we went back to my parents and hung out with the rest of the family.

Sat after Tday dad, Todd, and I went to our Annual Turkey Shoot setup by Muskrat of the Willow Creek Free Trappers. He does this annually for the Homeless Vets. He takes all proceeds and donates it plus any clothes we can donate. This is a trap shoot using Black Powder Muzzleloader Shotguns. We have 6 stations to shoot from and 2 birds per station, 1 round before lunch, and one after. For lunch they had octo-pork sandwiches (Pulled Pork) and some Elk Chili. Dad took first place overall, so he won $40.00, and I took 2nd so I won $30.00.
Plus they have a raffle after as well. It worked out well. Dad paid the 25 to play and then 15 in raffle, so he won back what it cost him. I paid my 25 and 5 for the raffle, so I ended up even as well.

Posting...

is overrated.
Work work work, all day long, I work work work while I sing this song.

Ok 10 things I have done since I last posted.
1. End of Sept...I went Deer hunting...didn't shoot at anything. But a bad day hunting is better than a good day working.
2. First of Sept...Peach Days...yea....umm...it gets more boring every year. The parade is still fun tho.
3. Installed 3 labs in Boulder, Colorado....not fun, but I found a great Vietnamese food shop called Chez Thuy.
4. Went to Florida for 2 weeks straight, working at our division offices. Stayed on the beach. Never touched the sand. However we did go to Daytona's Biketober Fest. Good times there. Wish I had a bike.
5. I have been watching football! Geaux Saints!
6. I am at a loss here...can I just change it to 5 things?
7. Rumor has it I have a family, somewhere in Utah.
8. In a month's time I have been home 2 Full days, and 2 Half Days, and 2 Partial Days (get home at ~10 PM) So that makes about 3 Days and a few hours total.
9. Oh yea, I got some new Glasses...I don't have to wear my old ones from High School.
10. I have a new fav series on TV, called TrueBlood, on HBO. Vampires rule.

Ok there ya go.

Meeting of the Mountain Men

So over Labor day weekend we always have the Willow Creek Free Trappers Rendezvouz.
We had alot of fun! They changed it a little this year to include more family activities.
Dad and I went up there Tues before Labor day and we came home on Labor day, 6 nights of camping. Todd (bro-in-law) came up Friday morning, and the 3 of us got our shoots done. Yes shooting of the weapons, however everything at a Rendezvouz is using Black Powder Muzzleloaders. That way we had all of Saturday to relax! Shannon and our 3 monkeys came up Friday night. They got to play kids games, bingo, bb gun shooting, tomahawk throwing, and turtle races. They always like coming up there. Sunday we had a Black Powder Muzzleloader Shotgun Shoot. They split us into teams, my partner and I had a shoot off for 3rd Place, however we lost, but it was awesome.
Sunday afternoon it started raining on us, it got real cold, and it was raining pretty hard for the rest of the night.
Check out some pics I took.

Busy times

Been quite busy lately. I have gone to Delaware, Kansas, Florida, and Illinois...

Delaware - "The First State" - Nothing great, don't care what Della wears anyway. Don't plan on going there for vacation. Spent a week in Newark. Maybe there is something worth going there for, but I didn't find it. However I had to fly into Philly....but sadly, didn't have time to check any of it out.

Kansas - "Sun Flower State" - Didn't see a single sunflower the whole trip. I spent my time in Overland Park. I felt it was a wasted trip. Fly in late, work the next day for 8 hrs, drive back to the hotel and fly home early. $1500 dollar flight for something that could have waited another few days and had a local rep drive there for $30 in gas. But hey, at least I have job security. Kansas City, MO yes Kansas City, Missouri that is where the airport is. Love it when a city is split into two by a state border. Still strange being Kansas City, you would think it would reside in just Kansas.

Florida - "Sunshine State" - Not alot of sunshine while I was there. I spent 2 straight weeks there, and every day it was cloudy and thunderstorms. Normal for this time of year. I had to cover in the office for a few people while they were out for maternity leave. It was good times. I can't complain. My hotel was located on the beach in Melbourne, FL. Yet I never set foot in the sand! HOW GREAT IS THAT! Not that I didn't have time, I had the whole weekend to do it. But I decided to do other stuff. I will be going back in October for another 2 weeks. Maybe it won't be as hot and humid. I did get evacuated from the hotel :( about 1:30 AM the fire alarm started going off, scared the crap out of me, and still being half asleep, I tried answering the phone, my cell phone, tried to figure out how to turn off the alarm....then I woke up completely, I am on the 8th floor, 8 flights down is pretty easy. There was an actual fire in my hotel. We had to stand across the street for 2 hours!!! It was just in the kitchen, so it didn't hit any rooms, and no one was hurt. So they tell us around 3:30ish we can go back to our rooms, however the elevators are still shut down. Ok 8 flights of stairs for Big Z was HELL! I didn't have to stop and rest in between flights, however when I got to the 8th floor, I was beat. Then I was too hot and sweaty to sleep, plus they kept trying to reset the alarm and it would go off, until around 5:30 in the morning. So when I showed up for work at 9AM, I was super tired.

Illinois - "The Land of Lincoln" - Ok...not going to try and comment on their state nickname. Lincoln has been dead for years. However I am staying in Chicago - "The Windy City" - Lets just say, I have added to it. Not having so much fun. The local guy is on vacation for a week, so they camped me out here in case a certain hospital calls. Yes. 1 Hospital gets this much attention in Chicago. Alexian Brothers. I guess they are very anal, and demand someone the minute they call, and they are big $$ makers for the company. Well we will see how it fares. I have been there 2 times already in 2 days. So I ordered Pizza......from Dominos. How lame is that?!? Then again, I don't even care.

Next week I have most of it off on Vacation. Time for Rendezvouz! No work! WOOT!
